Home Sweet Home

Day 42 17th Oct 2009 Saturday

Our last photo snap with our China guardians throughout our stay in China. The guy who is standing next to me with a gray vest is our guardian, beside him is his girlfriend who has helped him to look after the naughty bunch of us.

While I was in the plane heading to Hong Kong for transition, i saw this cute boeing with the Beijing Olympic Mascots imprint.

Bye Bye China!

Delicious food provided by Dragon Air.

And yup, our Yummy Haagen Daz served after our meal.

Tansiting at Hong Kong Airport

At the boarding gate area.

Makan at their departure area

Unable to visit their disneyland, i can only take photo with the disneyland shop and buy some souvenirs there. hopefully, the next time when i go Hong Kong, i can tour round HK!

But i have to say i am pretty impressed by their airport facilities and service though i still think Changi Airport is the best to me! ><

The moment the plane touched down on SG ground, i was feeling rather emotional. There is no place like SG that i wanted to return so badly having spent 6 wks in China. Missed my family very badly while overseas. I realised how blessed i am to be living with my family for they will always look after me. Yes, i may find them naggy at times but i knew they meant well for my health. Under no supervision, i was practically staying up till 2-3am daily to do my report and often overslept for work, skipping breakfast most of the time. i cant imagine my life without my family! Love them =)

Beijing Day 2

Day 41 16th Oct 2009 Friday
Tian An Men

This is the place where China celebrates its national day annually.

Theme Park: Happy Valley

Behind me was the roller coaster that i rode. the first ever step i took out of my comfort zone to take such ride. hahas. hopefully when universal studio is in operation, the courage i have here will be brought over to SG =P

Played at the game stall as my friend on the left is really crazy over the soft toys. so we were trying our best to win the biggest soft toy from the stall! hahas.

Below is a photo of me trying to aim the target with the bow and arrow. it was the weapon that the olden day pirates used. as the arrow used was sharp, surpervision was necessary. Upon knowing we were from singapore, the stall operator gave us a few more try as he told us the previous boss of this theme park came from singapore. think this SG boss must have treated him well that's why he offer to give us a few more try at his stall. hahas.

Playing around the amusement park and posing with the statues.

Hahas... this is the shiok part. havin known that this is our last day in China nad that we have yet to try out their mac pork burger, we decided to board a cab in the middle of the night to the nearest mac. our initial intention was to call for mac delivery... but their hotline kept jamming. so we risked going out in the middle of the night. hahas... saw a group of foreign students there too. they were studying in SG but came to beijing for attachment. the comments they gave us about their stay in china was hilarious. hahas... it is not convenient for me to write it out here =X

Beijing

Day 40 15th Oct 2009 Thursday

Bullet Train

Board my very first bullet train from Tianjin to get to Beijing. This train ride is very comfortable, smooth and fast compared with the bumpy train ride that we took from Jiamusi. Look at the speed of this bullet train that was displayed on the LCD board. The fastest that this train can go is around 330km/h. Within half an hour, we finally reach beijing.

My Barang Barang outside the Beijing railway station
As we were behind schedule, we didnt have much time to rest and off we went to visit the various tourist attraction in Beijing.
First Stop: Great Wall Of China
As we all know that great wall is extensive, but i didn't know that it was also very steep too! i really have problem climbing up the steep stairs especially i have not exercised for the past 1 month plus in Jiamusi. further more, the oxygen gets more depleted as we climbed further up.. there were times that i suffered dizziness as i was panting for breathe after climbing up a few steep slope.

It says "不到长城非好汉". hahas... it is written by one of the china famous politician but i forgot who was it =P

Oh yes, taking photo with my favourite chinese wu shu weapons. haiz! the vendor there actually sold miniature of these set of weapons but i only get to know it from my friend when we left the great wall. was kind of disappointed =(
2nd Stop: Bird Nest cum Water Cube

The blue colour lighted building is the water cube where all water sport events took place. This is where michael Phelps clinched the medals for most of the swimming events for the Beijing Olympics.

Behind me, the colourful structure is the Bird Nest where the Olympic track and field events were carried out.
Makan Time! =D
There after we went to a high class restaurant to have our dinner. We actually thought of ordering soft drink but upon hearing the price, we were shocked! for a glass bottle of soft drink it cost RMB 12 where the same drink cost only RMB 2 in Jiamusi. The standard of living here is so much higher as compared to Jiamusi. but yala, the food served here tasted better and the standard here is higher.

Just look at the amount and the type of food they served us! We really ate till our stomach bloat!

Couple Room:
My room mate and i were in for the shock of the day. we were given couple room as the normal hotel room were all taken up. at first we thought it is not going to be of much different so we accepted it. but the moment we step in, we both were shocked! i was much horrified after that.... the pink round bed they gave us (the photo of the bed shown below) i am actually ok with it, but the shower room i really cannot take it! just scroll down and look at the shower room!

See! Totally can see through de! further more, the curtain is outside the shower room. the room was totally designed for couple. we both took turn to go out of the room whenever one of us is showering.

Enough for the day! Saving energy for tomorrow's theme park! =D
